Furniture Fairs Descend On Asia

Guangzhou, China—This spring has seen the staging of numerous furniture expos in various cities in Southern China, with several expos and shows taking place in cities throughout the country.

The Dragon Excellent Furniture Fair drew in 300 exhibitors from various parts of China.
World Homexpo Guangzhou

Located in the heart of Guangzhou, the World Homexpo Guangzhou, which sprawled over 2 million square meters of exhibition space, showcased high-end furniture for the modern home, as well as related furnishing items.

Lifestyle Concept Hall was set up to provide a one-stop home furnishing shopping experience while the Mainstream Trend Showcase was dedicated to the retail of renowned domestic brand names. As the name implies, the International Brands Hall was a center for high-end international brands of furniture and furnishings.

It also provided an avenue for Chinese manufacturers of furniture and furnishing products to penetrate international markets and for foreign products to enter the Chinese market.


International Furniture Fair Singapore

More than 500 exhibitors from 30 different countries participated in the International Furniture Fair Singapore, occupying a floor space of 35,000 square meters and covering six halls at the Singapore Expo.

The five-day expo lived up to its reputation as the “Best Show in Asia,” showcasing more than 32,000 pieces of furniture and furnishing products.

The 17th China International Furniture Fair was held at the Chinese Export Commodities Fair Pazhou Complex.

Dragon Excellent Furniture Fair

The town of Longjiang in the Shunde district of Guangdong was the setting for the 11th Dragon Excellent Furniture Fair. The expo attracted the participation of 300 exhibitors, 70 percent of whom are local furniture manufacturers, with the remaining 30 percent coming from other parts of China.

Held once again at the Qianjin Exhibition Center, the two-day expo showcased a wide range of furniture items for the home and office.

Located at the interior of Pearl River Delta, Longjiang is a town that has a long history of involvement in furniture manufacturing, which dates back to the 1970s. Today, the region has more than 1,500 furniture factories. Backed by 800 companies involved in the supply of raw materials that has a combined production area of 300 million square meters.

China International Furniture Fair

The 17th China International Furniture Fair was held at the Chinese Export Commodities Fair Pazhou Complex, located in Guangzhou, China.

Organized by China Foreign Trade Guangzhou Exhibition Corp., CIFF 2006 was staged in two phases carrying different themes and featuring different furniture items. The first phase, which incorporated Homedecor and Housewares China, showcased a wide spectrum of home furniture. Phase two coincided with Hometextile China 2006, offering office and commercial furniture and textile showcases.
The Shenzhen International Furniture Expo offered visitors 180,000 square meters of exhibition space and a wide array of furniture items.


International Furniture Fair Dongguan

The 15th International Famous Furniture Fair Dongguan included the participation of more than 500 exhibitors, 30 of whom are furniture manufacturers from overseas. Being the largest of its kind, this year’s expo, also dubbed the “3F” event, featured more Chinese and foreign brands of furniture items, as well as a larger number of foreign visitors.

The expo saw an increased number of overseas exhibitors with the participation of 34 enterprises from countries including Germany, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Denmark, America, Jordan, the Philippines, Indonesia and Finland. This was in addition to the presence of furniture manufacturing companies from 10 provinces in Mainland China. Reportedly more than 80 percent of the larger and better-known furniture players in China took part in the expo.


Shenzhen International Furniture Expo

The Shenzhen International Furniture Expo, which was held in conjunction with the Shenzhen International Home Furnishings Expo and Shenzhen International Furniture Accessory Expo, took place at the newly-constructed Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center in Southern China.

The modern facility offered visitors some 180,000 square meters of exhibition space, showcasing a wide range of furniture items for the bedroom, living room, kitchen and office, as well as hotels. The event attracted the participation of 800 furniture manufacturers and material suppliers from throughout China, as well as manufacturers from outside the region.

Visitors from overseas were given the chance to marvel at the high-end furniture on display, which included a wide range of classical furniture, the bulk of which was manufactured from solid wood and veneer, as well as some panel and upholstered items. 
Decosit Hong Kong attracted more than 700 visitors from countries all over the world.

More than 30,000 visitors, 80 percent of whom were from outside the country, attended the event, including representatives from Ireland, Belgium, Denmark, Australia, Spain, Russia, South Korea, Japan and the United States. 

Decosit Hong Kong

Decosit Hong Kong made its debut in Asia at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center. Held for the first time outside of Europe, the international trade fair for furnishings and fabrics targeted furniture manufacturers, as well as fabric wholesalers, interior decorators and designers, hotel managers and designers and architects, all of whom were actively involved in the residential and contract markets.

Response to the expo was encouraging, attracting more than 700 visitors from countries like Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Singapore, Japan, the Philippines, Korea, Australia, Malaysia and Indonesia.

Unlike the other furniture expos in the region, Decosit Hong Kong was by invitation only, with visitors being hand picked from 30 countries. Only 15 percent of the visitors hailed from China.
